ABOUT US
Tech-Up Accelerator was created within the Digital District of Reggio Emilia in order to promote the growth of startups and open innovation projects, for the development of a sustainable and technologically advanced industrial ecosystem.
FOR STARTUPS
Tech-Up Accelerator is a place where startups prepare themselves either before market launch or establishing collaborations with companies and further investors.
In line with the manufacturing tradition of our territory, we focus on hardware startups that propose physical or phygital solutions.
We offer Acceleration/Incubation programmes, as well as customized support in the search for industrial partnerships and in fundraising.
FOR COMPANIES
Tech-Up Accelerator supports companies that intend to grow through innovation thanks to a range of customisable and customer-oriented services.
We encourage Open Innovation with the start-ups in our network, promote technological partnerships and support the launch of pilot projects. We offer Design Thinking courses, strategic innovation workshops for corporate teams and acceleration programs for SMEs.
We organise Challenges and Calls for Ideas in response to the specific needs of different corporate stakeholders.
WHY REGGIO EMILIA?
Reggio Emilia is one of Italy’s leading cities in terms of industrial and technological innovation, with one of the most important and cutting-edge manufacturing centres in Europe. It is home to a historic university and numerous research centres and laboratories.
Coming to Reggio Emilia means taking part in a paradigm shift in the world of industrial innovation. On the same area once allocated to historic Officine Meccaniche Reggiane (Reggiane Mechanical Workshops) is now under completion Reggiane Innovation Park, which in turn will be host to the Digital District, a hub for cross-contamination and collaboration between the academic and business environments. Parco Innovazione will become a key actor of innovation in advanced manufacturing as well as technical and technological training, with the aim of supporting companies in facing the challenges and transformations associated with Industry 4.0.
Tech-Up Accelerator, an expression of the needs of this avant-garde and constantly evolving entrepreneurial fabric, was created to foster the territorial ecosystem of innovation by creating connections and synergies between technological startups and established companies.

Promoted by Unindustria Reggio Emilia and Fondazione REI, Tech-Up Accelerator operates in partnership with Industrio Ventures, Italy’s first hardware accelerator.
Partners in the initiative are the also Young Entrepreneurs Group of Unindustria Reggio Emilia through Upidea! Startup program, Iren Smart Solutions and IN-ER, a regional network of incubators.
The project is realised with the contribution of the Manodori Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Emilia.
